Shining Brighter is more than a fundraising campaign, a construction project, or even a move to a new building. It is a new chapter in a story written by the Divine Author, a story about a people Jesus called “the light of the world” who want more than anything to shine brighter for His glory. This story is embedded in the grander narrative of redemptive history, and it is a story still being written.

The Beginning

On September 18, 2022, City Light Bible Church was planted with a mission: to radiate the truth of God’s Word into a world sitting in darkness. We chose to include "light" in our name because we never wanted to lose our focus on reaching the lost with the Gospel.

By God's grace, we have watched Jesus fulfill His promise to build His church (Matthew 16:18). We've seen people saved, baptized, connected to the church, and equipped to serve King Jesus. At the same time, we've enjoyed four amazing years of living life together as a spiritual family. God has knit our hearts together and given us many sweet moments of true fellowship. We are incredibly excited to see what God has in store as we turn the page to the next chapter of our church's story.

The Next Chapter

After searching for a new building for over two years, God led us to 2929 Patrick Henry Drive in Santa Clara. This building meets our needs better than any other one we viewed and checked the crucial boxes we had for location, square footage, layout, and number of parking spaces. Our 10-year lease means our church family will have a long-term home with many new opportunities to love each other better and to shine brighter for the Gospel.

Your Part in the Story

  1. Pray passionately. Ask God for His guidance throughout the process of renovation.

  2. Serve faithfully. With the move to a new building on top of all the ministry we are already doing, there will be many additional opportunities to fill gaps, take initiative, and love people.

  3. Give sacrificially. In order to cover construction costs and the increase in expenses at our new building, we have two main financial goals:

    Renovation Gift Goal: $5 million by December 31, 2028

    Increased Monthly Giving Goal: +$60,000/month by February 2027.

The Author

It is going to take a lot of prayers, a lot of work, and a lot of dollars to make the move to our new building. But we will trust in God every step of the way. He is the author of our story and the author of all history. He is the one “able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us,” and we are excited to watch Him work and give Him all the glory “in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen!”  (Ephesians 3:20-21)
