Pastoral Intern

Position Overview

The City Light Bible Church internship program is designed for men aspiring to the office of elder, especially those who desire to serve in full-time pastoral ministry. Interns will learn how to excel in both the character and work of eldership through discussions with City Light’s current elders, readings, serving in a wide range of ministries, and preaching and teaching.

Responsibilities

• Engage in weekly round table discussions with the Lead Pastor and elders

• Engage in regular meetings with pastors in the community

• Complete assigned reading of pastoral ministry books and other resources

• Serve in a wide range of City Light ministries

• Lead various ministries

• Preach and teach in mid-week Bible studies

• Shadow City Light leaders in counseling, discipleship, and visitation

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or current enrollment in Bachelor’s program

• Experience serving in leadership in a local church

• Ability to work with a team of leaders

• Ability to preach and teach

• Aspiration toward eldership in a local church
