John is a certified Biblical Counselor through the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors (ACBC) and oversees City Light’s Biblical Counseling ministry. He also oversees Youth Ministries, and his wife leads a small group for married couples. Serving in ministry at City Light has ignited a life-long passion for making disciples of Jesus Christ through evangelism and life-on-life discipleship. 

John is an instructor at West Valley College, teaching Communication Studies courses and serving in various administrative roles.  As a young believer, he joined the United States Air Force and quickly got involved in the Navigators’ military discipleship ministry. John enjoys traveling, SCUBA diving, reading, and sometimes just doing nothing. He and his wife Terri have two daughters, Emily and Katie, and one son, Michael, who is married to Peyton.
